Taking A Look At The Benefits Of Breastfeeding

March 11th, 2009, Posted in Elderly

benefits of breastfeeding

More than a few heated discussions have broken out between mothers who breastfeed and those who have chosen the bottle over the breast. While there are documented physical and emotional benefits of breastfeeding, bottle feeding mothers contend that the benefits of breastfeeding can be reproduced during bottle feeding sessions and breastfeeding is not worth the inconveniences and discomfort. A mother’s personal choice ultimately decides if her child will be bottle or breast fed. Rather than argue the facts, let’s take a humorous look at some of the benefits of breastfeeding your baby.

One great perk of breastfeeding is that you get to wear sexy, easy access, nursing clothes.  Most nursing clothes are designed to allow your infant easy access to the breast. This feature is a great convenience, but it also can lead to inadvertent breast flashes in public if your nursing clothes are not properly secured after feeding your infant. If you find people following you around while out in public, check your shirt.

You get to join the stylish trend of baby wearing. Breast fed infants often nurse more frequently than bottle fed infants. This can lead to the feeling that your child is always attached to your breast. Baby wearing can be seen in malls, grocery stores and parks across the nation. Baby slings, swaths and holsters are sold that encourage a nursing mother to flaunt her baby wearing style. Some even offer anytime access to the breast- a very nice perk for the infant.

You also get to enjoy the experience of public breast feeding. There’s nothing quite like attempting to discreetly nurse your infant by draping a blanket over your shoulder to provide a little privacy and having a curious stranger walk up and peek under the blanket to get a look at the adorable baby- and your exposed breast. Communities should hold public breastfeeding contests to see which mother has the best embarrassing story of breastfeeding in public. Some mothers take the natural approach to breastfeeding in public and let it all hang out- daring onlookers to stare and make snide comments. If you happen to encounter one of these women, do not confront them! They are hopped up on postpartum hormones, made cranky by sore breasts and are often sleep deprived from nursing their infant every two hours around the clock- they can be very dangerous!

This brings us to the classic sore nipples. There is just no other experience that compares to allowing a hungry infant to chomp, suck, chew and grab a breast that is plagued by bruised, cracked and sore nipples. No amount of prenatal education or coaching by the La Leche League can prepare you properly for sore nipples- it must be experienced to be appreciated.

Breastfeeding is a wonderful time of nurturing and bonding with your infant. It is also a lesson in balancing pain and humility with a little humour. The humorous benefits of breastfeeding cannot compare to the genuine benefits of breastfeeding for many mothers. Learning to take the unpleasant aspects of breastfeeding with a grain of humorous salt is part of the wonderful world of choosing to breastfeeding your infant.

Many seniors that are reaching retirement age often make the decision to live in a retirement community. They frequently discover the retirement community location further appealing than a single family home for a number of causes.

Residing in a retirement community will cut down or completely eliminate the need to do any home maintenance. Several catholic communities keep the grounds so the older people can enjoy the atmosphere fully.

Most retirement communities offer organized activities for their senior residents. Activities can vary widely to appeal to just about anyone’s tastes. Activities can include card games, tennis, swimming, golf, movies nights, dances, seasonal parties, and much more.

When looking for a retirement community, one must first decide what their needs are. If medical assistance is needed, an assisted living retirement community should be considered. This type of catholic retirement community will generally offer care ranging from semi helped to completely assisted services. The semi-assisted facility allows for independent living with minimal assistance. If around the clock care is required that can be offered as well. Medical facilities are usually on site and can provide the care their residents may need. If a resident begins in the semi-assisted facility and later requires more assistance, the transition is very easy.

If no help is required, then an active older retirement community would be a better option. Even though an active adult community will not provide medical assistance, they are generally built in close proximity to medical facilities in order to be offer convenience for the residents.

After the particular requires are defined, it’s time to appear at price and location. Selecting a retirement community that fits your needs, desires and budget can sometimes be challenging. Finding one that fits your needs and desires will likely be easy; finding one that fits the budget may be more difficult. When think to moving a retirement community, its best evaluate the alternatives each is providing and decide first if it’ll suits the budget.

There are many non profit catholic retirement communities that are more affordable than other retirement communities. They’ll try to help older people that can’t pay the whole amount.

If you are more worried with facilities than budget the choices are various. You will be able to find a location that suits you perfectly. Florida is the one of the major destination for older age people that’s allowing for relocation. The weather and lifestyle in Florida appeals to many seniors

Choosing a catholic retirement community to resolve into is a huge choice. It is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Be sure to check if there are any restrictions on visitors. Some communities do not allow overnight guests. Take your time and do plenty of research before making a final decision on a retirement community.

When new parents are out looking for a stroller for the newest member of their family there are a number of things that they should keep in mind and looks for. It is essential that strollers be convenient and easy to use for the parent, while being comfortable and safe for the child. The Bugaboo Stroller company has a line of baby strollers that meet those basic requirements and have many other features and benefits as well.

Before deciding on a model of baby stroller, parents should try to evaluate how they will be using the stroller. If it will be used every day for outings, walks, jogs in the park or commuting, then a sturdier model will be needed. If parents only expect to use a stroller occasionally, such as for quick shopping runs or travel situations, then they can probably get by with a lightweight stroller.

Many people consider the Bugaboo Stroller company to be one of the baby travel gear manufacturers that is the most innovative and that has some of the most unique models of baby strollers on the market today. It seems that the people at Bugaboo truly have an understanding of the needs of both the parents and the children when it comes to baby travel accessories.

One thing that makes the Bugaboo models stand out is the extra features and options that the company makes available and that have a tendency to make parents smile with delight and contentment. At the same time, these great features also help to keep the child happy, relaxed and comfortable in the environment of their new stroller.

The Bugaboo company employed the talents of a medical doctor and an industrial engineer, who worked together to develop a baby stroller that would hold up well under the strains, demands and stresses put on a stroller, in the course of an average day in the life of a busy family.

Active families love the fact that the Bugaboo Stroller is able to do just fine on sandy beaches and on rough and rocky hiking trails, just as easily as it maneuvers around the grocery store. All it takes is a quick and simple procedure to switch out the wheels and you can be ready for uneven terrain at the park or for nice smooth floors in the mall. The Bugaboo Strollers have been designed intentionally to be versatile enough to fit into a normal family’s routines and adventures.

There are two basic Bugaboo Stroller models to choose from. Both models are fully equipped with a seat that has three angles of recline, have a durable five-point harness, rain covers and mosquito netting, and a parking brake. There is also a great storage compartment under the seat and a removable sunshade and both models will adapt and grow with your child from infancy until they reach 40 pounds.
